June 2009 jobless new mixed for Wayne County and surrounding area

Union County's unemployment rate in June was 9.7 percent, down from 10.4 percent in May. It was also the only area county whose unemployment rate was not in double digits. Randolph County's rate also declined slightly last month to 12.3 percent, down from 12.5 percent in May.
