A Fort Wayne firm that paints and coats components primarily for the military announced Friday that a lack of business would force it to close temporarily, forcing it to furlough 77 employees.

Nu-Tec Coatings is awaiting word on a military contract. It would be awarded at the beginning of February at the earliest, and employees would return to work shortly thereafter, Nu-Tec President Wayne Shive said.
