ANDERSON - Attendance at Hoosier Park's casino reached the 10,000 mark sometime early Tuesday morning, a casino official said.

Jim Brown, Hoosier Park's general manager for gaming, said first-day attendance was at about 10,500 by 6 a.m. Tuesday. He did not know numbers after that time but said the casino had continued to see decent crowds.

Valet parking attendants were still busy Tuesday evening, and the line to register for the casino's membership program was long, just as it was minutes after the casino opened to the public at 9 a.m. Monday.

Brown said interest in the rewards program was typical and that probably 75 percent of Hoosier Park's customers would enroll in the program.

"For probably the first month of our operation, you'll see lines at our rewards center," he said.

Hoosier Park won't release revenue figures, Brown said, but the Indiana Gaming Commission will report on the casino's draw in early July.
