BEDFORD - Despite that a stagnant economy has delayed Clarian Health projects at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Bedford Regional Medical Center, also owned by Clarian, is moving forward on plans for a replacement facility.

Plans, however, are in the earliest stage, according to Brad Dykes, chief executive officer at BRMC. And hospital officials would like to hear from patients.

Anybody interested in being part of a BRMC focus group to examine building a new hospital should call 275-1202 or go online to www.brmchealthcare.com.

While the focus groups will meet in the next few weeks, the broader process will take a considerable amount of time.

Dykes estimated it might take up to a year for the architectural group and BRMC to get to the point of blueprints that would outline a master plan.

A decision as to whether the current BRMC site will be used won't come until late in the planning process, Dykes said.
