MUNCIE -- Just three years ago, there were no intercity bus companies operating in Muncie.

Today, there are three, with the recent addition of Cleveland-based Lakefront Lines, which has added a stop in downtown Muncie to its service between Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago.

"My feeling is, the more the merrier," said Roger Hollands, a retired Ball State University political science professor and coordinator of the Anderson-Muncie Public Transportation Coalition. "The more connections to the rest of the world, the better. This gives people who don't have an automobile or don't prefer to drive another travel option if they're going north."
