The first three sections of I-69 have been open to traffic for just two weeks, but already, anecdotal evidence suggests that motorists have found the new route through southwestern Indiana to their liking.

Drivers interviewed Monday by reporter Laura Lane where the interstate now ends at the Country Mark service station at U.S. 231 in Greene County raved about the highway and the time it was saving them.

Their comments support other early reports from friends and acquaintances who say I-69 shaves 30 minutes or more off the trip between Evansville and Indianapolis, compared to the U.S. 41/I-70 alternative, even with 27 miles of I-69 between U.S. 231 and Ind. 37 still uncompleted.
