MIDDLEBURY — The recreational vehicle industry in Middlebury just got a little bit bigger with the announcement of a new production line coming to town.

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles said in a press release that it will be moving its Bristol-based Skyline RV manufacturing operation to Middlebury. All employees at the Bristol facility will be reassigned to the Middlebury plant, expanding EverGreen’s employment base to approximately 400 in Middlebury.

For an employee who lives in Bristol the total commute will take about 13 minutes.

“Expanding and moving the Skyline RV division to our larger Middlebury manufacturing complex provides us with additional efficiencies, cost savings and management opportunities,” EverGreen RV president Don Emahiser said. “This move puts the new Skyline RV production group and management team in closer proximity to our Middlebury corporate headquarters for improved communications, oversight and quality assurance. We will also maximize the efficiency of our lamination facility making it central to all operations.”
