NEW ALBANY — A slight tuition increase at Indiana University Southeast will impact students by about $61 a semester next year if they take a full course load.

The 1.79 percent increase was approved by the IU Board of Trustees and is slightly higher than the average increase at IU’s regional campuses of 1.65 percent. In-state students at the Bloomington campus will see a tuition freeze for the next two years.

Chancellor Ray Wallace said the additional funds will help expand improved technology and more courses for students.

“An increase of less than 2 percent is deliberate in that we wish to provide even more resources for our students, while also continuing to offer the most cost effective choice for higher education in the region,” Wallace said in an emailed statement.
