INDIANAPOLIS — Party leaders in the Indiana House of Representatives met face to face Wednesday, breaking the ice in their nine-day standoff.
Both Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis, and Minority Leader B. Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend, called the hourlong discussion in Bosma's office "positive" but said their respective positions haven't changed on a set of 11 education and labor bills that led Democrats to walk out of the Statehouse last week.
Bauer said Wednesday afternoon that he planned to return to Urbana, Ill., where most House Democrats have been caucusing since Feb. 22 and preventing Republicans from moving their agenda.
