OPINION: Property tax break laudable; exclusions regrettable

The governor's decision last week to extend the deadline for filing for a homestead exemption was a kind-hearted move.

Now we will see whether the legislature, whose leaders have said they will go along with his proposal and make it law on Organization Day in November, are also kind-hearted as they have suggested.

Regardless of how it sounds, though, the extended deadline is only half a solution.
