BUTLER — Autoline Industries in Butler is expanding to add 25 new jobs over the next three years, the company announced Tuesday.

The job growth stems from a $1.5 million investment in manufacturing equipment and building improvements, according to a news release.

“The city of Butler and its citizens are extremely happy to learn that another 25 jobs will be created at Autoline Industries in Butler,” said Butler Mayor Ron Walter. “We look forward to the expansion and the positive effects it will bring to our local economy. Twenty-five new jobs in our city should provide an economic boost to some of our hard-working citizens who, through no fault of their own, have had recent difficulties in maintaining basic living standards.”

Autoline purchased the Butler plant in late 2007. Its Butler workers manufacture brake and clutch pedals, jack and tool kits and transfer case shifter assemblies for passenger cars and light trucks. Last year, the company reported that since early 2009, its Butler work force had grown from 22 to 73 full-time hourly employees.

Based in India, Autoline Industries is an international engineering and auto manufacturing company that supplies sheet metal components, subassemblies and assemblies.

Ken McCrory, director of the DeKalb County Economic Partnership, said Autoline has been considering expansion at Butler for about six months as the company waited for the economy to slowly improve.
