Muncie not one of 17 cited this week by a Super Bowl host group

MUNCIE -- Hotels, restaurants and merchants in Muncie and Delaware County might get some business spill-over from when the Super Bowl is held in Indianapolis on Feb. 5.

But the city did not win an official designation as a "Super Celebration Site" as announced this week by the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee.

And while officials in Indianapolis and Muncie said this week they were uncertain of why Muncie was not one of the designated communities, it appears that Muncie officials did not seek an endorsement.
