MUNCIE -- The owners of some of downtown Muncie's most prominent businesses complained Wednesday that street closings for downtown festivals are costing them money.

About 18 business owners signed letters to the Muncie Board of Public Works -- which approves street closings -- and many attended the board's Wednesday morning meeting. Later in the day, the business owners turned out for a meeting of the Downtown Development Partnership.
