Tippecanoe Arts Federation $3 million upgrade coming to downtown Lafayette center

The project will make the space more comfortable, more functional and more beautiful, said TAF’s chief operating officer Ann Fields Monical.

The project will add 3,600 square feet to the existing structure, creating a more functional workspace for staff and two additional meeting rooms for members to utilize.

Upstairs the building’s reception hall will be redone to accommodate a larger stage and double seating capacity to just over 200, meeting an acute need of Greater Lafayette's arts community.

“There is an immediate need for a better performing arts space to showcase our members who are in music,” Monical said.

The three upstairs gallery spaces also will be refurbished, the walls stripped down to their original plaster. Monical said shelves from when the building served as a library are still behind many of the upstairs walls.

“Everything will get new paint while keeping all of the historical trim,” Monical added.
