The town of Nashville was awarded $50,000 for its Village Green Revitalization project that plans to create an interactive play area and gathering space in the center of downtown.

The Brown County town was among four Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb awarded as part of the Place Based Investment Fund program.

“The Placed Based Investment Fund is a terrific partnership opportunity between state government and local communities,” Holcomb said in a press release. “High quality of life is a trademark of Indiana communities all across the state, and local leaders know better than anyone how to enhance and promote their appeal. We look forward to continued collaboration with the winners and are excited to see the results of their PBIF awards.”

This is the fourth year for the competitive grant program that is administered by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. According to the release, the purpose of the program is to support initiatives that develop multi-purpose gathering areas, improve tourism and promote quality of life.
