Michigan City is giving a tax break to the Michigan City Paper Box Co., which is investing $1.2 million in new equipment that will result in three new jobs.

The 112-year-old family-owned company makes boxes for companies like  Wal-Mart, Gap, K-Mart, Banana Republic, Kohl's, Lord and Taylor and Coldwater Creek. It's a leading manufacturing of cotton-filled jewelry boxes. 

“Our company is committed to manufacturing the highest quality retail packaging products in the industry and upholding an unparalleled standard of customer service," President Al Hoodwin said. "Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, we will continue to expand our products and services to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers all over the world. We are proud to call Michigan City, Indiana home."
