$100 million deal for Purdue collapses

Eric Weddle, Journal and Courier

A foundation that pledged $100 million to help Purdue University commercialize its research has backed out of the deal.

The Alfred E. Mann Foundation for Biomedical Engineering ended its collaboration with the university five years after it began, the university announced Thursday.

Details are scant as to what led to the breakdown of the agreement, which was widely heralded in 2007 by Purdue yet eyed skeptically by other universities.
