IU looking to pump up summer sessions with 25 percent in-state tuition discount

Mike Leonard, Herald-Times

Indiana University is not Macy’s, where there seems to be a sale of some type going on every day.

But Indiana University’s discount on undergraduate tuition this summer is a first in university history, and so far, students aren’t rushing the registrar’s office — or its online portal — to take advantage.

As of this week, the total registration head count for all IU campuses was up 3.3 percent from the same period last year. In Bloomington, the numbers were higher — a 5.6 percent increase for in-state students and 8.2 percent for out-of-state students.
