Still hiring
Energy Management Solutions is looking to hire 60 people to work at the ethanol plant in South Bend.
The company held a job fair last week at WorkOne, where about 320 people applied for the jobs.
People can still apply, however, even if they missed the job fair. Visit icminc.com/careers/careers.html to see the positions the company is filling here.
SOUTH BEND - Less than a year ago, the ethanol plant on the city's southwest side appeared to be destined for the scrap heap.
Now it's in the early stages of an extensive update that will make its process more energy-efficient and its emissions less smelly.
Kansas-based ICM Inc. started working to retrofit the facility last week. ICM's sister company, Energy Management Solutions, will operate the plant when it starts making ethanol again.
Bill Paulsen, general manager for Energy Management Solutions, said the company's goal is to begin production in May.
