A total of 600 post office delivery jobs are open in the Greater Indiana District.

And additional postal jobs are open in the southwest Michigan area.

Jobs will be filled fast, said Donna Hoffman, U.S. Postal Service customer relations coordinator in Indianapolis.

"We will be hiring 600 people for rural carrier associate positions," Hoffman said. "These positions are available at post offices throughout Indiana and Michigan.

"We do post other available jobs on our website as well, such as city carrier assistants."

The rural carrier positions pay $16.26 per hour.

Interested applicants must go to usps.com, careers, search out latest job openings, choose the state, then select the job posting for any office within a 50-mile radius of their residence, Hoffman said.
