Teen pregnancy rates in Indiana continue to drop, but not as quickly as the national average.

A new study by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy reports teen pregnancy rates nationwide and state-by-state.

As of 2013, the national teen birth rate was 27 births per 1,000 girls between the ages of 15 and 19. Indiana’s numbers, which are only as recent as 2012, show the rate was 33 births per 1,000 girls.

Since 1991, the national teen birth rate fell by 57 percent, while Indiana’s rate declined 45 percent.
