Community Development Corporation of Northeast Indiana agreed to be a funding partner of Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center to support NE-ISBDC’s expansion into the 10-county region.

An announcement on the new partnership said many NE-ISBDC clients obtain CDC loans to start or develop a small business so a partnership so collaboration benefits them both.

NE-ISBDC had requested CDC funding to continue and expand its programming in and around Allen County, it said.

“We thank the CDC for its support of the Northeast ISBDC and expect that the relationship between the two organizations will be ongoing,” Jane Rich, NE-ISBDC regional director, said in the announcement.

“As a result of the new funding, we anticipate representatives from the CDC and the NE-ISBDC traveling together to meet with clients in outlying counties and co-marketing our products and services to increase awareness of our programs in Northeast Indiana.”

Rich said the region’s economy could benefit from increased access to CDC loans for NE-ISBDC clients, and new funding through the partnership could result in more customized small business workshops, training and co-marketing opportunities.
