Lutheran Health Network will open three new RediMed urgent care clinics this fall, most notably one in downtown Fort Wayne.

The downtown clinic will be in the Anthony Wayne Building, 303 E. Berry St. A clinic also will open in Bluffton at 1980 N. Main St.; and a clinic and Business Health Services center is planned for 1302 Minnich Road in New Haven. The plans were announced at a press conference July 23.

“Downtown has had very limited urgent care access outside of the hospital setting,” said Brian Bauer, CEO of Lutheran Health Network. “We are ecstatic about offering prompt, non-emergent services to citizens who work and live downtown as RediMed adds another amenity to Fort Wayne’s growing urban culture.”

The downtown location will provide a convenient option for occupational health services, Bauer added.

RediMed also made an important operational change so that each clinic will be staffed with double provider coverage to ensure patients are seen more rapidly. Each clinic will maintain permanent staff whereas temporary staff, known as “locum tenens,” had been used in the past.

The downtown clinic will be on the first floor of the Anthony Wayne Building and will have three exam rooms and a procedure room. Radiology, lab services and lower acuity procedures will be available onsite. It is expected to create 10 new jobs.

The New Haven location will see the addition of seven full-time and one part-time employees. The establishment of the RediMed urgent care clinic in Bluffton will involve the relocation of an existing Business Health Services site to a 3,400-square-foot building in front of the local WalMart. The new Bluffton RediMed will create three full-time healthcare jobs and one part-time position.

In addition to the three new locations, RediMed has nearly finished renovations at four of its five existing urgent care, business health and physical therapy locations.
