When the Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County board of directors voted in June to join Energize-ECI, a regional development group based in Muncie, EDC president Valerie Shaffer spoke up.
"I have a lot of confidence in the organization," she said.
That confidence comes in part from the group's selection of its new leader, Mindy Kenworthy, who took on the role of president/chief executive officer May 19.
Kenworthy was born and raised in Richmond. In fact, she's never lived anywhere else.
That gives her unique insight when it comes to marketing the 10 counties that make up the East Central Indiana region represented by Energize-ECI — Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush and Wayne.
