Thursday, August 28, at 5 p.m., the Columbus Area Arts Council, along with Indiana State Representatives Cindy Ziemke and Randy Frye, will be hosting the Region 9 Grants Awards Ceremony at The Greensburg Decatur County Public Library.
The following organizations will be receiving funding for the 2014-2015 grant cycle, from the Indiana Arts Commission Regional Initiative Grant program. These awards are in the Arts Organizational Support and Arts Project Support categories.
Bartholomew County: Columbus City Band awarded $4,080, Columbus Scottish Festival awarded $4,080, Columbus Symphony , $4,080, Dancer's Studio, $6,895, Ivy Tech Community College, $4,080 and Columbus Pro Musica awarded $13,790.
Dearborn County: Dearborn Highlands Arts Council, $6,895 and ARC of Dearborn County, $4,080.
Decatur County: Greensburg High School, $4,080 and Arts and Cultural Council of Decatur County, $5,910.
Franklin County: Historic Metamora, $4,080.
Jackson County: Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, $6,895 and Jackson County Community Theatre $4,080.
Jennings County: Our Heritage Inc. $4,080.
Ripley County: Rural Alliance for the Arts, $6,895 and New Horizons Rehabilitation, $4,080.
Switzerland County: Switzerland County Historical Society, $4,080.
The total amount awarded within Region 9 was $92,160.
