AUBURN — The Auburn Common Council Tax Abatement Committee voted Tuesday to recommend a 10-year tax phase-in for a senior housing development project at 1313 E. 7th St.

The site, formerly the location of Oak Meadows adult long-term care facility, is being refurbished by Keller Development of Fort Wayne. The company will renovate and add on to the old Oak Meadows building to make way for 48 living units. The facility would include units with one and two bedrooms, as well as living units for those age 55 and over and another set of units for those age 62 and over.

The committee’s vote acts as a recommendation to the full council, which will consider the tax phase-in at a future meeting. The phase-in would reduce property taxes for the development.
