Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health announced Wednesday it has purchased 28 acres of land in West Lafayette.

The land is on the northeast corner of new U.S. 231 and Cumberland Avenue, said Terry Wilson, president and CEO.

"We understand that our presence in West Lafayette is very important to our patients, physicians and community members," Wilson said.

"With the opening of the new U.S. 231 extension, and the recent annexation by the City of West Lafayette, we are certain that this location has tremendous growth opportunities for Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health."
