MUNCIE – A bank opening, two banks closing, a new store hiring and a local favorite closing are among the business changes in Muncie.
Chase, which is building a new bank at Northwest Plaza, recently told its customers it would be closing two other Muncie locations around the time the new banking center opens.
In letters to customers, Chase said the branch at 3401 W. Fox Ridge Lane will close at the end of the business day on Nov. 15 and that the downtown bank, at 220 S. Walnut St., will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 14.
The bank said the new branch, at 1635 W. McGalliard Road in Northwest Plaza, will open Nov. 17.
The bank said accounts, including existing checks, credit cards or ATM/debit cards, would not be affected by the change. Chase said safe deposit box customers at the downtown bank would receive more information within "the next 30 days."
