SOUTH BEND —  Crowe Horwath is growing.

Because of growth in its audit and tax practices, the company plansto hire 100 people at its South Bend office within the next year, the company said Wednesday.

The positions will be hourly and pay will be based on experience. The company already has hired more than 40 people for the positions, many of them from Indiana University South Bend, according to Gary Fox, managing partner of Crowe Horwath's South Bend office.

The positions will be for both full and part-time employees.  As an example,  Fox mentioned a parent who wants to work only during the school year.

"It's going to be more about who we find to fill the positions," Fox said.  "And if it's a really good person and will only commit to a part-time schedule, then we will go in that direction. But if it's a really good person who will commit to a full-time schedule, then you go in that direction.

“These positions are for those interested in providing client support for our audit and tax groups, but are looking for a more flexible arrangement, whether they are college or graduate students, parents of school-aged children or others looking for an adjustable schedule in South Bend.”
