A dedication ceremony for the new $103 million Madison-Milton Bridge will be on Oct. 1 in Madison.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear will be here to dedicate the bridge.

Madison Mayor Damon Welch and Milton Mayor Denny Jackson will also be in attendance.

The dedication ceremony will take place on the lawn of the Riverboat Inn at 2 p.m.

The bridge was moved from temporary piers to its permanent spot in April. It took about 16 hours to slide the 30-million-pound steel truss.

The bridge reopened to traffic on April 17.

A pedestrian sidewalk is still being completed by construction crews. It is expected to open later this year.
