PRINCETON – Gibson County’s Toyota plant intends to convert 180 variable workforce positions to full-time Toyota positions in the next five months, the company reported Monday.

The first 60 positions staffed by Aerotek will be offered as full-time Toyota production positions next month.

Toyota draws from the Aerotek staff to fill its full-time production positions.

“It’s a great feeling to know that our team member base is growing,” said Bill Dyer, manager of workforce planning and organizational development at Toyota Indiana

“Aerotek does a great job in preparing its team members to join our team; we are happy to have them as a partner.”

The company attributes strong sales demand  for the locally-manufactured Toyota vehicles as the need for additional staff.

The 180 positions come on the heels of Toyota’s announcement last month that the company would invest $100 million to expand production facilities by 70,000 square feet and add 300 team members to build 30,000 more Toyota Highlanders.

Aerotek announced plans to host a career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Toyota Indiana Visitors Center, 4000 S. Tulip Tree Drive, south of Princeton.  No reservations are required.

According to a news release from Toyota, Starting pay for the Aerotek positions is $15.85 per hour, with a 70-cent shift premium for second shift positions.  Contractor benefits, including health insurance and 401(k) are also available.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED to be eligible for hiring.

In addition to Aerotek, suppliers such as Automotive Technology Systems, Enova Premier, KC Transportation, PIC Group, Superior Maintenance Company, Toyota Boshoku Indiana and Vuteq be at the career fair to recruit potential employees.

Candidates interested in production careers at Toyota who can’t attend the career fair can apply online at www.aerotekin.com.
