Fort Wayne's Freeman Jewelers going out of business after nearly 70 years

The longtime Fort Wayne retailer is having a going-out-of-business sale and expects inventory to last through the holidays. The company has been a Summit City staple for nearly 70 years. In 2004, it announced plans to build its existing north-side location at 10120 Auburn Park Drive.

The company spent $1.3 million at the location, which includes a three-sided clock tower and 2,400-square-foot showroom.
