Richmond will become home to the Osborn International's North American headquarters in the coming months.
Thom MacLean, vice president of global manufacturing for Osborn, made the announcement while speaking Thursday to joint meeting of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and the Indiana Economic Development Foundation Inc. The meeting took place at the Osborn plant on Salisbury Road.
State economic development board chairman Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and other board members welcomed the news, as did about 20 community members at the public meeting.
"Indiana has developed into a booming home for business," Pence said. "Companies choose to grow here — and in the case of Osborn, move their administrative offices here —because the Hoosier State offers the affordable business climate and skilled workforce they need to thrive. The future is bright for both Osborn International and Indiana."
MacLean and Valerie Shaffer, president of the Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County, said plans to move the North American headquarters to Richmond have been in development for several months.
