MONTICELLO — The Hoosier Artland for Economic Growth 2015 conference is slated to take place Wednesday, May 13, at the Best Western Plus Brandywine Inn and Suites in Monticello.

The 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. conference provides resources and information to community leadership and individuals seeking to leverage the arts in order to build community and promote economic development.

Arts track and government track sessions will cover topics such as rural demography, identifying community stakeholders in the arts, rural affairs programs across Indiana, creative place-making, arts marketing, and Indiana arts organization successes.

Sue Ellspermann, Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, will be the keynote speaker. Lunch and refreshments will be served and activities across Monticello will follow the conference, including band performances and an optional winery tour.
