JASPER — Students will soon be able to complete the final two years of a Purdue University engineering bachelor’s degree at Vincennes University Jasper Campus.
The partnership program, which was announced today, would involve a mixture of distance education, traditional classroom learning and internships.
According to the plan, faculty hired by Vincennes and approved by Purdue would teach courses at the Jasper and Gibson campuses as well as the main Vincennes campus, and the universities would both pay proportional shares of the salaries.
The proposal must be endorsed by the engineering faculty and the trustees of both universities and would be subject to approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
“This partnership continues the long and successful relationship we have had with Purdue University.
It will provide tremendous benefits for southwest and south central Indiana and its thriving industrial base. Great opportunities await the graduates of these programs,” Vincennes University President Dick Helton said in a press release.
