The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) recently announced a $10,000 award to the Muncie Symphony Orchestrato support Together In Music community engagement project.

The NEA will make 1,023 awards totaling $74.3 million nationwide in this funding round, 10 of them to the arts organizations in Indiana.

NEA Chairman Jane Chu said in a release, “The NEA is committed to advancing learning, fueling creativity, and celebrating the arts in cities and towns across the United States. Funding these new projects like the one from the Muncie Symphony Orchestra represents an investment in both local communities and our nation’s creative vitality.”

This grant will bolster MSO's innovative music-based community engagement and education project Together in Music. "On behalf of all MSO constituents we thank NEA for the investment in great music for a great community," said Alena McKenzie, MSO executive director.
