Front door delivery of fresh meat, produce and other goods now is just a few mouse clicks away.
Green BEAN Delivery this month expanded service to Greater Lafayette, BEAN LLC President Shane Towne said.
The Indianapolis company is built on increasing consumer demand for locally and regionally produced organic and natural foods, he said.
“For quite some time we’ve had residents in the Lafayette community reach out to us and say they were interested in getting our service,” Towne said.
“It’s a no-brainer for us.”
Customers include people who want to feed nutritionally rich foods to their families, know where their food comes from and support local farmers, he said.
That was the vision in 2007 when Matt Ewer, an organic farmer, and Beth Blessing, his wife and a nutritionist, founded BEAN LLC — or Biodynamic, Education, Agriculture and Nutrition, Towne said.
The family startup has transformed into a network of food producers that uses sustainable practices to create products ranging from beef to granola in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois.
