Better fill your car’s tank up — a temporary spike in gas prices is expected to hit the Midwest starting next week.
As refiners shut down their operations for maintenance and unplanned repairs, gasoline supplies will be stretched thin, resulting in the increase in prices, according to GasBuddy. Prices could rise by as much as 10 to 30 cents per gallon in several states, including Indiana.
Twelve refineries are undergoing work in Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma and Kentucky, GasBuddy says.
