JEFFERSONVILLE — The River Ridge Development Authority is selling land that may hold its largest warehouse yet — even bigger than the 1-million square-foot Amazon Fulfillment Center.

The board unanimously approved a resolution during its monthly meeting toay to negotiate the sale of 80 acres of land between Logistics Avenue and River Ridge Parkway.

Executive Director Jerry Acy said the confidential project is an "industrial type development that has been discussed in the past" among board members, and the prospective buyer is hoping to build a 1.5 million square foot facility.

River Ridge would sell the land for $60,000 per acre, totaling $4.8 million.

The tract of land is one part of almost 900 acres deeded over to River Ridge from the Army last month. Acy said then that many companies were already interested in the land around Logistics Avenue that will connect to the future heavy haul road.

Acy said the prospective buyer is asking that the 11,100 linear feet of rail on the property be removed by River Ridge staff.
