CHURUBUSCO — C&A Tool announced it will expand its local operations in Churubusco, adding up to 51 jobs this year.

C&A Tool has invested more than $6 million in a new production line for the medical device sector that will expand the facility’s capacity.

“We are expanding in all business units, it’s a very exciting time for us,” C&A Tool CEO Dick Conrow said in a news release issued by the Whitley County Economic Development Corp.

In 2014, the company added specialized computer numerical control equipment and 26 new jobs to expand its capabilities to serve aerospace customers.

C&A Tool says it has grown to become an industry leader in additive manufacturing and three-dimensional printing for the aerospace, medical device and industrial sectors.

“We are so pleased to see C&A’s continued growth in northeast Indiana, and particularly Churubusco,” said Whitley County EDC President Jon Myers. “We are fortunate to have the headquarters of such a significant global manufacturing company located right here in Whitley County.”

Churubusco’s Town Council has approved a 10-year tax abatement in support of the company’s expansion efforts.

Established in 1969 as a tool and die maker, C&A Tool has become a national and international supplier of metalworking specialties and has approximately 590 full-time employees and 750,000 square feet of manufacturing space at facilities in the Churubusco area and in Auburn.
