MUNCIE — A local precision parts maker announced this week it had taken ownership of an Indianapolis-based manufacturer, bringing up to 22 new jobs to the Yorktown-Muncie area.

Mursix Corp. acquired Dakota Engineering in a deal announced publicly Wednesday afternoon. Dakota was previously a supplier and division of Mursix Corp., according to the company website. The acquisition will bring 22 jobs from Indianapolis to the Park One-based Mursix plant, which currently employs about 300 people, near Ind. 332 and Interstate 69.

The acquisition includes more than $2 million in new machinery, which will be transferred to Mursix using $150,000 in incentives offered by the county.
