MUNCIE — One of Muncie's most prominent downtown buildings is up for sale.

The half-block of Walnut Street best known as 120 S. Walnut St., home of the Dandelions Floral and Gift Shop, and 124 S. Walnut St., home of Kirk's Bike Shop, is for sale for $1,125,000, Brian Allardt of Coldwell Banker Commercial told The Star Press on Thursday.

The two storefronts were built as two buildings — the larger of which, 124 S. Walnut St., was for decades the International Order of Oddfellows lodge — and were at some point remodeled on the second and third floors into one building with 12 apartments, Allardt said.

Besides the apartments, Allardt said, the property would include two long-term retail tenants in Dandelions and Kirk's.

Allardt said his brother, Jay Allardt, and building co-owner Scot Boyce decided to sell the structure, but for "no particular reason."

"They've both been in real estate," Brian Allardt said. "They purchase, renovate, sell and buy."
