Wisconsin based ICAP Development has announced plans for a new student housing development in downtown Terre Haute immediately adjacent to the Indiana State University campus. The private development, named Highland Quarters, will be located at 627 Cherry Street and will open in August 2017, the company announced Tuesday in a news release.

The 106,000 square foot, five-story project will include approximately 60 residential units, the company announced. All units will feature private bathrooms for each bedroom, in-unit laundry, and fully furnished bedrooms and living areas. The ground level will provide roughly 6,000 square feet of retail space, secured parking for tenants, and amenity spaces that will include a full-service fitness facility, quiet and group study rooms, and an entertainment lounge.

The new development will be located next to the Scott College of Business and the College of Technology at Indiana State University. Highland Quarters will offer safe and convenient access to classrooms, as well l as immediate proximity to retail, restaurants, and nightlife in downtown, the release stated.

"We are proud to be a part of the recent renaissance of downtown Terre Haute," said Jerad Protaskey, Vice President of Development for ICAP Development. "As Millennials ourselves, we appreciate the desire for a campus home to provide a true live, work, play lifestyle, and Highland Quarters is based on those principles."
