ELKHART — An Elkhart-based manufactured housing builder has announced that it is opening a new manufacturing facility in the city.
Skyline Corp., one of the nation's oldest providers of manufactured housing, said in a press release that the manufacturing facility will produce affordable housing for communities in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. It is expected to start manufacturing at the end of May.
"The opening of the Elkhart facility is in response to growing demand for our existing community partners," said Skyline President and CEO Rich Florea. "The Elkhart plant will enable us to more efficiently and effectively deliver our Skyline quality and service to our customers in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan."
Skyline would not comment on where the new plant is located or how many jobs were created.
