Panel Solutions plans to build $5 million facility on Elkhart's east side

ELKHART — A local company is looking to expand its operations and hopes to add between 50 to 75 jobs in the process.

Panel Solutions Inc., which makes tiling and other products for the recreational vehicle industry and retail stores, plans to spend about $5 million to build a 96,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility at the corner of Middlebury Street and Patricia Court on the city’s east side.

The company is scheduled to appear before the Elkhart Plan Commission on June 6 for final site approval of the building plans.

The expansion comes as Panel Solutions is seeing significant growth outside the RV industry, something owner Tom Zurek said was an intentional strategy for the company coming out of the recession.
