Terre Haute television station WTHI was part of a five-station, $115 million deal announced Monday that would allow its current owners, Nexstar Broadcasting Group and Media Group, to sell it to USA Television MidAmerica Holdings.

Nexstar in March announced it planned to sell WTHI and keep its Farmersburg-based station WTWO-TV, which also manages WAWV-TV.

The sale of WTHI and the four other stations involved to USA Television MidAmerica Holdings is subject to FCC and other regulatory approvals and to the closing of the Nexstar-Media General transaction, which is expected to be completed later this year.

In late January, Nexstar Broadcasting Group Inc. and Media General Inc. announced they had entered into a merger agreement totaling $4.7 billion in cash and stock transaction. Nexstar will change its name to Nexstar Media Group Inc. upon the completion of the transaction, expected in the late fourth quarter this year.

In May, Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced it would sell WCWJ, the CW affiliate in Jacksonville, Fla. (Designated Market Area 47), and WSLS, the NBC affiliate in Roanoke-Lynchburg, Va. (DMA 69), to Graham Media Group for $120 million.

Nexstar also announced the sale of KADN (Fox) and KLAF-LD (NBC) of Lafayette, La. (DMA 121), to Bayou City Broadcasting Lafayette for $40 million in cash. Nexstar also announced the sale of KREG Denver (DMA 17) to Marquee Broadcasting.

In June, Nexstar announced an agreement to sell WBAY-TV, the ABC affiliate serving the Green Bay, Wis.,and KWQC-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the Davenport-Moline-Rock Island area, to Gray Television Group Inc. for $270 million in cash following the acquisition of Media General by Nexstar.

On Monday, Nexstar Broadcasting Group said the total gross consideration for all recently announced station sales agreements related to the Media General transaction (including USA TV, Gray Television Group Inc., Graham Media Group Inc., Bayou City Broadcasting Lafayette Inc. and Marquee Broadcasting Inc.) is about $545 million.
