The Terre Haute Department of Redevelopment on Wednesday formalized a written management agreement for the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp. to oversee the city department.

In April, the Terre Haute Redevelopment Commission approved establishing a management agreement between the city and the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp. Terre Haute EDC President Steve Witt had served as interim director of the city department since the Jan. 29 retirement of former redevelopment department director Cliff Lambert.

Under the management contract, Witt assumes the role of director of the city’s redevelopment department. The city is to pay $5,000 per month to the EDC under the agreement, said Lou Britton, attorney for the Redevelopment Commission.

The agreement has 60-day notice opt outs for the EDC and the city in the event the management agreement does not work out, Britton said.
