JASPER — An interactive map showing projects happening in Jasper is now online for the public to use.

Through Story Map, people can click on a marked project on the map and find information about the project, including a description, photographs and, when available, estimated cost of the investment. The project categories are color-coded: community projects in blue, medical projects in purple, residential projects in green, and commercial projects in red.

The map was created by the city’s GIS technician, Jeff Warren, with assistance from Darla Blazey, director of the city’s community development and planning department, Lisa Bower of the Mayor’s Office and Blazey’s summer intern, Libby Gress. The planning department will keep the map updated, Blazey said.

The Jasper Board of Public Works saw a quick demonstration of Story Map at its meeting this morning. Mayor Terry Seitz noted there is more than $200 million in construction projects going on in the city.
