More than 675 new homes and 240 rental units could be coming to the Huntertown area.

North Eastern Group Realty is seeking permission to develop 1 square mile in Perry Township for 677 single-family homes and 120 duplex units that would create 240 dwellings.

This would be the largest development the firm has undertaken in more than a decade.

The area is bordered by Lima, Hathaway, Dunton and Gump roads, developer Ric Zehr said.

The homes, which would be constructed by various builders in a development called Copper Creek, would be priced at $200,000 to $350,000, he said.

The one- and two-bedroom duplex units, which would be built in The Village at Copper Creek, would rent from $1,000 to $1,200 a month. That development would be maintained by a single owner and include a pool and a clubhouse.
