WEST LAFAYETTE — With their big shiny scissors, Purdue University officials and other partners with Keating Supercars USA snipped the checker-printed ribbon, welcoming the showroom for the manufacturer's "Viperia Berus" model.
The showroom, located at the Purdue West Shopping Plaza, opens a month after the announcement Keating Supercars USA will build the fastest U.S. street-legal car in the Purdue Discovery Park District.
Paul Moses, director of the Purdue Research Foundation, said Thursday marked another new beginning for Purdue and the Discovery Park District.
"We like to move fast around here, especially in this state, and nothing says 'You've made it,' in life more than having the financial flexibility to drop a few dollars on a new supercar," Moses said. "They are expensive, but they are in high demand."
